COLLATERAL

Collateral is a 2004 crime thriller film. The main actors are Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. It was directed by Michael Mann and written by Stuart Beattie. The simple storyline of the film follows like this; Max picks up a man named Vincent, who was seen earlier exchanging a briefcase with a stranger, then they drive to a tenement building as the story builds up from the scene after Vincent goes up then a dead body drops on the cab of Max. Max later on finds out that Vincent was the murderer. Following on in the film Max and Vincent has a very crimeful and adventuruous time spent together as they face each.

The scene built in the building when Vincent goes after Annie Farrel to kill as she is his next victim, as Max finds this out he goes to help her out to survive. The scene takes place in Annies work place,the scene is full of action and suspense as the audience is aware of what is about to happen to the victim but they can not warm the victim about the event that is about to happen. The lighting is dark in the scene when Vincent puts off the electricity and this also helps create suspense in the scene.

As this thriller is a crime thriller we also spot alot of objects such as guns, knives, blood and many more in the mise-en-scene which indicates the main aspects of crime and suspense, we also notice cliffhangers as an aspect of suspense.
