Collateral is a crime thriller movie made in 2004 starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. It was directed by Michael Mann and Written by Stuart Beattie. An example of suspense in Collateral in when the police pulls over Max and Vincent because the windshield is smashed. In this scene what happens is that a man falls in top of the car smashing the windshield and then Vincent persuades Max to help him put the body in the trunk of the car as Vincent is threatening Max with a gun. After as they are driving off, the police seems to notice the windshield and pull them over. Max is very nervous as Vincent is constantly threatening him with killing them if he doesn't succeed in getting rid of them, as the two police officers approach one of them asks for Max's license and registration and then tells him the reason to which they have pulls him over. Max tries to explain by saying that he accidentally hit a dear but either way the police officer asks both Max and Vincent to step out of the car and open the trunk. This is where suspense is created as you start to think that the police officer are going to see the dead body and Vincent would end up killing them but as they are stepping out of the car suddenly the police men are called as something has occurred and leave Max with only a warning to which the audience is also relieved as no-one was killed.
